In our first story, technical hitches delay the opening of the world's first AI casino. China-based artificial intelligence company, SenseTime, has been working on implementing its technology in Genting’s Resorts World, Singapore's first casino. The project was supposed to become operational last year, but due to technical difficulties, the launch has been delayed.

The AI technology would be used to track gamblers and casino staff through facial and gesture recognition in order to prevent any kind of fraudulent behavior. The project also involved replacing human dealers with robot croupiers. However, it seems that the existing technology at the casino is not capable of keeping up with SenseTime's plans. Most likely, the world's first AI casino will have to wait until these issues are resolved.

Next up, Wynn Resorts is planning a big expansion in Massachusetts. The company already owns the Encore Boston Harbor Casino in Everett and is about to add another property just across the road. The plan is to develop a premium entertainment and hospitality destination that will attract more visitors in addition to those who come just for the casino.

Wynn has already submitted the plans for the first stage of the project. In its initial phase, the future complex will feature an indoor entertainment venue with 1,800 seats, a two-story restaurant, and a parking garage for 2,200 cars. It will be connected to the existing casino by a 425-foot-long pedestrian bridge. The construction should start sometime in 2022 and will last for about two years.

In our next story, the Mohegan Tribe is about to expand its gaming operation overseas, as it prepares to start developing its first casino in South Korea. Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, the corporation that runs the tribe's various gambling enterprises, has announced that it has gathered the $1.5 billion in financing needed for the first stage of the project.

The Inspire Entertainment Resort will be built 25 miles from Seoul, on Yeongjong Island in Incheon. Per plans, it will include three hotel towers with over 1,200 rooms, an all-purpose arena with 15,000 seats, a casino, a convention center, and an indoor water park. The development is already underway, with 12% completed so far. The casino should open its doors for the public in 2023.

In our last story this week, one lucky guest hits a jackpot worth over $1 million in a downtown Vegas casino.

One of the visitors at the Golden Nugget casino will remember last Thursday as long as he lives. The fortunate player hit the jackpot on IGT's Wheel of Fortune machine. The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, pocketed a whopping $1,195,000.

Other casinos across the Valley have handed out big payouts last week, too. Wheel of Fortune was brought luck to another player, this time at the Four Queens casino. An Oklahoma woman struck gold with the jackpot worth almost $400,000. In addition, an unnamed visitor at Green Valley Ranch casino won big on the Dancing Drums slot machine, landing the progressive jackpot worth over $170,000.
