In the first story, Aristocrat Gaming Breaks Ground on New Tulsa Plant
As one of the biggest manufacturers of slot machines in the world, Aristocrat Gaming continues to lead the way. Outgrowing its production facility in Tulsa, the company recently broke ground on a brand new production plant. It will cover more than 137,000 square feet of warehouse and office space. With construction underway, the new facility should be completed in spring of next year. It will be located in East Tulsa near South 145th E. Avenue. The current plant is on E. Skelly Drive. Aristocrat Gaming’s corporate headquarters are in Sydney, Australia.
Next up, Casinos In Connecticut Open & Set to Launch Legal Sports Betting
The expansion of gaming in Connecticut has been a long and tedious process dating back close to 10 years. Negotiations between the state and two gaming tribes have been at the center of the delay. However, with the necessary legislation in place, the launch of legal sports betting is just months away. The target date for launch is early September in conjunction with the new football season. FanDuel will partner with Mohegan Sun as one gaming partner. DraftKings has formed the same type of partnership with Foxwoods Resort and Casino. The Connecticut Lottery Corp. will also offer legal online sports betting.
In the next story, Brightline Holdings Buys Land for Las Vegas High Speed Train Station
Plans are in the works to build a Las Vegas train station in Clark County. The company behind the plan is Brightline Holdings. It purchased the land this year. Located between Warm Springs Road and Windmill Lane, the 110-acre lot sold for $140 million. Start of the project has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Brightline needs to secure $8 billion to finance the project. The train station would be four miles from Allegiant Stadium as the home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. It would be 10 miles from the downtown Las Vegas casino district.
In the last story, Illegal Gambling Machines Confiscated in Honolulu Raid
Gambling in any form remains illegal in the state of Hawaii. The 50th state does not even run its own lottery. Earlier in July, there was a raid by the Honolulu Narcotics/Vice Division, Specialized Services Division and District 5 Community Policing Team. This group uncovered more than two dozen illegal gambling devices plus an undetermined amount of cash. One 50-year old unidentified make was arrested for possession of gambling devices. He was also being investigated for promoting gambling in the second degree. He was later released after posting $200 in bail. Hawaii along with Utah have the strictest anti-gambling laws of any state.
