In the first story, Ohio’s Vax-a-Million Incentive Awards the Final Prizes
Adults 18 and older in Ohio were given a chance to win $1 million for getting vaccinated against the coronavirus. Youths ages 12 to 17 could earn a free ride to an in-state college or university. Ohio started its Vax-a-Million incentive in mid-May. The final $1 million and scholarship winners were announced on Wednesday, June 23. All told, the incentive gave out $5 million and five scholarships in conjunction with the state lottery. The program was funded through the federal government’s CARES Act. More than five million people in Ohio are now fully vaccinated against the virus.

Resorts World Las Vegas officially opened for business on Thursday, June 24. Surrounded by high expectations, this $4.3 billion casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip does not disappoint. Cashless gaming is available for slots and table games. The casino floor covered more than two football fields combined. The on-site Hilton hotel offers more than 3,500 rooms in two distinct towers. The Sky Casino salon is located at the top of the building on the 66th floor. Owned and operated by the Genting Group, this is the latest showpiece in town. A LED façade lights up the Strip from the bottom to the top of the property.

The Menominee Casino Resort in Keshena, Wisconsin was forced to close for nearly two weeks. This was traced to an external cyberattack on the resort’s computer system. Certain amenities were still being impacted as of June 25. However, the casino floor was able to reopen for business. A few restaurants were still only accepting cash as of that point. However, Daniel Hansen expects everything to be back to normal in the coming days. He is the property’s general manager. Local law enforcement personnel and the FBI have led the investigation. Both cyber and forensic experts were also called to the scene.
