In our first story, one Vegas casino has an innovative approach to capture a new audience and attract visitors from the fastest-growing demographic. The casino, formerly known as the Lucky Club, will for through full renovation and rebranding to transform into a Latino casino for a Latino audience. This unique concept is already garnering the nationwide buzz as the owners look to create a unique experience specifically catered to Latino guests.

Once the renovation is complete, the casino will operate under a new moniker, Jefe Bet. Fifth Street Gaming, the company that owns the property, has announced that the new complex will feature 200 more gaming machines and a nightclub. The company will also open a restaurant and sports bar in partnership with the Ojos Locos chain.

Next up, last Thursday, a poker player at Red Rock Casino in Vegas scored big for herself, but also for other casino players after participating in the hand of the lifetime. Maria M. was playing at a low-stakes Hold’em table when she had her quad threes beaten by a seven-high straight flush in hearts. However, the lost hand triggered the bad beat jackpot worth a whopping $303,000. This meant that Maria won 15% of the jackpot, or $45,469.

The winner with the straight flush took home a cool $30,313, The other players at the table, just by being there, scored $1,895. Poker guests playing at the time across the other casinos owned by the same company didn't do too bad either. Each of them won $952.

In our next story, a North Carolina man unknowingly hits an $11,000 jackpot. On April 1, Kevin Whitlock triggered the Grand Prize on the 88 Fortunes slot machine at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Western New York. However, the lucky winner left the scene without even being aware that he won.

Luckily, the slot attendant noticed what happened and informed his superiors. The team at Seneca Niagara did some investigative work and soon was able to track down the winner and inform him of his reward. Initially, Whitlock thought that someone was pulling an April Fools' prank on him, but was soon assured that he did win the money. Recently, the lucky winner took the trip back to New York to collect the payout.

In our last story this week, Massachusetts will likely become the 31st state with legalized wagering. On Thursday, the State Senate voted to approve the sports betting bill proposed by Senator Eric P. Lesser. The bill would allow all the adults aged 21 and over to place sports bets at land-based casinos and on online apps.

The Massachusetts House also passed the wagering bill last year, although with slightly different provisions than the one approved by the Senate. Governor Charlie Baker has already announced his intention to sign the bill into law if the Senate and the House manage to reconcile their differences.

The betting legalization, if finalized, would be very beneficial to the state. It's estimated that Massachusetts would rake in between $35 and $65 million in tax revenue every year.
